World of OT is amazing! Our therapist has worked with our daughter to build confidence and help address her socio-emotional challenges through preschool and TK. She has been kind, supportive, compassionate and a true advocate for our daughter through some challenging times including changing schools. The change in our daughter’s behavior, confidence and just general level of happiness has been so profound. We’re so thankful to have found such a wonderful resource for our family.

We have been working with Ushma for several years now, since about the 2nd or 3rd grade, after having started with a different OT initially. We were looking for a more holistic and integrated approach, and it was especially important for us to work with someone who could meet us right where we are, in our child's natural habitat, so to speak. Ushma came highly recommended by a learning specialist at our kid's school and has since been adopted as an OT by many other families at the school, which is a huge testament in and of itself. What I appreciate most about working with Ushma is how she integrates her support into the classroom or home environment and the visible impact that's had, both due to the increased visibility, as well as transferable skills right back to the school and home life. To illustrate my point: we were working on my pre-teen's executive function skills, and we've gone from challenges of not even knowing on how to get started on finding something in the room, to our kid volunteering to set up and organize her own room -- first drawing up detailed plans for it; to organizing her desk at school; tying her own shoes and hair; riding a bike (not a skill I could teach myself); and coming up with systems on organizing her own schedule and school work, so that assignments are turned in on time. We also continue to see support whenever there is social-emotional navigation or transition involved, which is frequent in middle school and at this age, and comes year over year with changes and adjustments to each new grade's teaching team. Ushma's individualized support is something I see even the teachers and administration in our school take notes on. She is our advocate for classroom setup accommodations and navigating tough behavioral conversations with the school and much of the reason we have been able to stay at this school for years.

Hands down, this is the best overall OT provider in San Francisco. We worked with several OTs and World of OT is the most creative, most flexible, most engaging and most nourishing of them all. They cover gross and fine motor skills exceptionally, provide services at home or in school and manage to captivate the attention and imagination of the little ones throughout the session. While children are in the lead, they get challenged and learn persistence in a playful manner. World of OT has also been super helpful around insurance questions which is not negligible for parents with already enough on their hands.

The team at World of OT crew are children-whisperers. They are able to deeply understand the motivations and challenges of a client, and work with them to become self-aware of those situations and practice using tools for overcoming them. World of OT’s unique approach is that they will come to the child in their every day lives, such as at school or at home, and that means they’re able to directly contextualize those observations and tools to what the client is actually going through. I highly recommend working with them for any kid that needs OT!

Ushma and World of OT are experts. If you want the best knowledge and support for your child and yourself as a parent World of OT is the place for your OT needs. Ushma is energetic and my kids gravitated to her immediately. She is also great at parent education and support. She will help your whole system--family and school learn to support your child. World of OT is also great at teaching children self-advocacy and independence. My son knows how to take care of him self and ask for what supports he needs at school.

We had the pleasure of working with Ushma for a year. Because of her skillful and individualized interventions, we saw dramatic improvement in a short period of time. For starters, Ushma provided us with the most detailed and thorough initial report I've ever seen from a occupational therapist (OT). Trust me, I'm a nurse. I've seen plenty. She's incredibly responsive, and offers the most helpful advice, as you navigate challenges and day-to-day activities. Pre-pandemic, we'd have our sessions at a local playground, which we really enjoyed. Our sessions are now in the comfort of our own backyard, and somehow she manages to make them just as fun. One of the things I appreciate most about Ushma is her child-led approach, collaborating effortlessly with our little one. We will forever be grateful for Ushma's help. It's not just us that sees how impactful her work has been with our child. Our school has mentioned it multiple times as well, and now regularly refers other students to her! I can't say enough good things about Ushma. Contact her, she's the OT BFF you need in your life.

Ushma is an amazing OT! I'm working towards a career in pediatric OT and volunteered my time to World of OT. While volunteering, I also work as a preschool teacher. Ushma has taught me so much about a child's development and I used the lessons she has taught me and applied them in my own curriculum at work.
